Experience the heritage and beauty of America's oldest industry! When gas was discovered in 1896, dozens of glass houses soon popped up. Depression-Era glass, Albany Glass, Fostoria, Kings Crown, and many other styles and one-of-a-kind items have been produced in the area. Glass is thought to be fragile, but many examples of the craft have survived from thousands of years ago. The museum connects visitors to Dunkirk's past through 8,000 unique pieces of glass from 110 factories around the world. See 25 leaded glass windows, 25 hanging lamps, and hundreds of hand-blown and hand-pressed glass creations.
